On the bottom right of your screen you will see an icon that looks like the following . Click once on that icon and the following Kaspersky Anti-Virus window will appear. The following steps will take you through how to set up a scan for 1) Critical Areas, 2) My Computer and 3) Startup Objects.
  1. Click on the Settings Button at the top of the Kaspersky Antivirus Window, and the following window will appear.
  2. On the left column there is an area that says Scan. Under Scan there are three items. Select Critical Areas.
  3. On the right-hand side there is an area that says Run Mode with a Change button located on the right. Click on the Change button.
  4. Once the button is clicked you will see the following window.
  5. Ensure that the Frequency is set to Weekly and Select an appropriate day that the computer can scan the critical areas (this will need to be a day that your computer will be turned on). Once you have made the changes to this window you may close the window by selecting Ok.
  6. To set up the automatic scan of My Computer select My Computer from the left column. Then again, on the right site in the Run Mode area, select the Change button.
  7. Then the following window will appear:
  8. Under the Frequency area ensure Monthly is selected. In the Schedule settings area, select the appropriate day of the month that you would like the scan to run i.e. 1. Also, ensure that the “Run task if skipped” checkbox is checked.
  9. Then select Ok.
  10. Finally, for the Startup Objects select Startup Objects on the left. Then under the Run Mode area, select the Change button. This should bring up a window shown below:
  11. Under Frequency select On Program Startup. Then Select Ok.
Congratulations! You are finished setting up Kaspersky to run automatic scans.
